Cupid Cloud Hop: Sweetheart Couple Spotlight – The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

Today I’m excited to host a Sweetheart Book Couple Spotlight for WinterHaven's Cupid Cloud Hop. This week WinterHaven and a great group of Cupid Cloud Hop bloggers are posting their
Book Boyfriend and Sweetheart Couple Spotlights.

My Sweetheart Book Couple Spotlight is dedicated to
Andrew and Camryn from The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski
So, let me share with you a few things about these two that I came to adore when I read their story.

Favorite Andrew/Camryn Couple Moments
1. Road Trip to New Orleans
2. Duet of Barton Hallow by the Civil Wars
3. Tattoos of Eurydice & Orpheus
4. Andrew’s letter to Camryn
5. Looking up at the Rain

Favorite Quotes
“I run behind her, letting her stay a few steps ahead of me so if she happens to fall I’ll be there to laugh at her first and then help her up afterwards.” ~Andrew

“I think if past lives are real then we have been lovers in every single one of them. I've known you for a short time, but I feel like I've known you forever.” ~Andrew

“You were the missing piece of my soul, the breath in my lungs, and the blood in my veins.” ~Andrew

“I don’t think you ever really fall out of love with someone. I think when you fall in love, like true love, it’s love for life. All the rest is just experience and delusions.” ~Andrew

Favorite Pintrest Casting Board
Since I can’t post pictures of the gorgeous two, I’d like to refer you to this board on Pintrest that captures them perfectly.

My Thoughts
THIS.BOOK.WAS.EFF’N.AMAZING!! Where in the hell has Redmerski been hiding all my life??? I LOVE her!! Okay enough of the antics, let me stop and tell you why I adored this book so much besides that fact that it carefully shattered my heart and put it back together in a matter of a few hours!

The Edge of Never is a powerfully romantic story filled with heart rending moments and off the charts chemistry. This is the type of book that makes me an avid reader. Seriously! I find myself in constant search of that next fictional journey that will not only move me, but stay on my mind for days. So when I pound through book after book and finally come across something like this… I’m rendered speechless. In this case for over a week. That’s how long it finally took me to sit down and put to words what I feel about this story.

In The Edge of Never, we have the privilege of meeting twenty year old Camryn who sets off on a road trip as a means of finding some perspective in her frazzled life. In less than two short years, she’s suffered the death of her boyfriend, witnessed the arrest of her brother and felt the heart break of her parent’s divorce. After a night out with her best friend that leads to misunderstandings and all around disappointment, she packs her bags and sets off on a road trip with no certain destination in mind. While on this journey of self discovery, she meets Andrew Parrish who is on his way to visit his dying father. These two slowly become friends, which leads to a connection they never bargained for or expected.

The Edge of Never had everything I simply adore in a contemporary novel, including road trips, moments of self discovery, characters with chemistry, as well as a little bit of heart break and a whole lot of hope for something good to come.

Like I mentioned before, Cam and Andrew are filled to the brim with chemistry, but most importantly, these two characters felt truly real. Their story seemed to lift from the ePages of my reader and attach itself to my heart. I simply loved these two as a couple, and I adored them as individuals as well. There was a ton of truth and honesty wrapped around a pound of flawed between Andrew and Camryn. I think it was their flaws and dents they exposed along the way that added that certain sense of realism I felt with these two.

As far as the narrative, it encompassed my favorite type of flow. With this book we got alternating POVs between Andrew and Cam, which was the perfect narration to bring their story to life. When the perspective changed for the first time in the book, it was like an electric charge, and as the story continued with them handing the stage back and forth to each other it felt like the right rhythm for their flawed-to-perfection story.

On a final note, I’ll offer a true fact about myself. I’m not a book crier. I mean to prove my point, I even have a shelf dedicated to the small amount of books that have brought me to tears. So, I just have to say that there was a moment that was so unexpected that if it wasn’t for the shock I was experiencing at the time, I swear I would have been bawling like a baby! I felt that tightening in my jaw, the smarting in my eyes, but I was going through some serious shock, denial, hurt and despair all in a matter of moments that for a non-crier like me, if it wasn’t for that myriad of emotions I was experiencing all at once, this would have been one ugly face crying moment. ~casualty averted… thank goodness~

If I could recommend any book right now, The Edge of Never would be at the top of my list. This story has managed to stay on my mind days after finishing it, and it’s books such as this story that refuse to leave my imagination and heart and prove to me once again there are magical moments in fiction.
